In addition to my portfolio of national and regional strategic projects, I have also led on a number of community projects and events. Below is a selection of some of the projects I have delivered over the past ten years...
Open Centre project
I am currently Volunteer Co-ordinator on a project with The Garage, looking at the viability of an open delivery model for Arts Award. This work is due to run until September 2018.
Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust
In 2014 I supported the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust to develop their education and training offer, as part of a Hertiage Lottery Fund project. Please visit www.wherryyachtcharter.org to read about the work of the Trust and their current education offer.
Broadland Live!
During 2011 I worked on a Broadland Community Partnership funded project involving the communities of Brundall and Reepham. During my time as Project Manager, I established two outreach activity hubs, organised the delivery of 26 workshops and recruited over 79 young people
Sure Futures Social Enterprise Days
A short partnership project working with Fruitful Arts and NORCA. I co-ordinated and delivered two days of creative activity with year group cohorts (Y9 and Y10) at Thorpe St Andrew High School. The students explored business & enterprise skills through a range of creative activities
Big Draw
As part of the National Campaign for Drawing’s annual celebration I was delighted to devise and deliver some exciting, open-to-all drawing activities for a local community. Having little budget meant enlisting lots of good will - five professional artists volunteered their time, ensuring the event was thoroughly engaging. Together we inspired over 50 people of all ages to pick up a pencil and enjoy a truly creative day
Schools Singing Project
I devised and delivered a schools singing event for a cluster of Norfolk schools. Over the course of one term, schools were supported to get a group of pupils together and practice a song to bring to a sharing event. Over 280 pupils attended the event and 16 members of staff took part in CPD sessions
Sprowston Community Film Festival
Working with local Film makers Robert Vaughan and David Lloyd, I supported Sprowston Junior School, White Woman Lane Junior School, Woodland View Junior School, Falcon Junior School, Hall School and Sprowston Community High School to create short films. These films where then screened at a local cinema, to an audience of over 300 young people, parents and community members
Summer School
During the summer of 2008, I devised activities and curriculum planned Art Award into a Summer School programme for Young Offenders. I worked in Tutor and Support worker capacities throughout the delivery of the programme, which included taking the young people to visit the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art
Dance Project
Working in partnership with Active Norfolk to engage adults in the North Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit areas in Dance. This project took place in the Cadge Road community centre and was much loved by all involved!
Girlguiding UK 95th Birthday Celebration
I worked on this project with Carol McEwan and a team of volunteers, which culminated in a sleepover for over 200 Guides in Norwich’s main library, The Forum. The exciting evening was not only a great opportunity for young people to make new friends, but was also a fundraising event for Children In Need
Higher Education Summer Schools
During the summer of 2001 I worked on a project that was designed to encourage young people who may not ordinarily choose to continue in education to consider entering Higher Education. Young people, predominately from disadvantaged backgrounds and inner city London, were given the opportunity to try out classes at the University of East Anglia. I captured the young people’s experiences on film and supported the production of the film “Think Future” – a video that could be used to encourage more young people to realise their potential
